Toronto Brick Works
The brick works are in the middle of the city nestled in the tranquil Don Valley. Opened in the 1880's it made bricks for thousands of Toronto homes and commercial buildings until finally closing in the 1980's when the raw materials in the quarry were all used up.

Sitting derelict for awhile it has now been taken over by the non profit organization called Evergreen, who have turned the quarry into a lovely water park for strolling and meditation (see below). They have fantastic plans for this site; see www.evergreen.ca. Another example of applying creativity to our industrial past to make it relevant for today.
